About Me

I spent 25+ years as an HR executive at Indeed, USAA, Verizon, and LogicMonitor, scaling teams through hyper-growth and coaching leaders through tough calls. Today I coach leaders from my home base in Austin.

I help leaders whose organization has outgrown the way they've always led. Usually that is a capable person with high standards who is still the final word on decisions their team should own, and who feels it in their calendar. We work on the specific behaviors and dynamics behind that pattern so you can delegate with confidence and spend your time on what only you can do.

Athletics shaped how I think about this too. I was a co-captain of the Notre Dame swim team and later coached swimming at the high school and collegiate levels, including as head coach at Northeastern Illinois. You can set the standard and call the splits, but you can't swim the race for someone.

Clients say I push their thinking without letting them off the hook, and the change holds after we're done. I keep my client list small and always start with a conversation to see whether we're a good fit.
